A Budding Artist

In October, I let Baby J loose with paint and Q-tips!  He had a blast putting the leaves on this tree.  And he was proud of it too.  I hung it on the wall and he showed everyone that came over.

The painting turned out so cute, and he was so proud of it, I decided to do another for Christmas...

I let him put the ornaments on this tree.  I originally wanted him to use his finger, but he insisted that he needed Q-tips.  He even put a garland on it!  Not bad for a two year old!

Proud Momma!

Burrrr Part Two

Well, snow was what I was actually wanting, but ice is what were getting!

Right now, outside my window, everything is glittering with ice.

Landon and I have been through an ice storm before. Actually, we went eight days with no power!  But at that time we had no kids and a fire place. Now, we have a kid and no fire place!  But we do have a generator and a welder!  (just I case you don't understand, a welder has a gas engine with outlets.) So, if we do have worst case scenario ice storm we won't be that bad off.

But, why don't we all take a quick second and say a quick prayer for Oklahoma, so maybe worst case scenario won't happen.

Thanks,
Cold in Oklahoma

Burrrr!!

A couple weeks ago, we had ice, snow, and cold!

I was torn between liking and disliking the weather.  After three years of record breaking high temperatures, I was ready for some cold.  But when you are the mom of a two year old, record breaking lows aren't that great either.  Poor Baby J wanted to be outside so bad but after a few minutes he was freezing and  ready to be back in again.

Baby J was so funny about the snow.  He wanted to be out in it, but every time he tried to pick some up he would quickly drop it again and say: "It cold mommy!"

He did enjoy making tracks.

Moose, on the other hand, loved the snow.  He always has.

Well, I won't complain if we get more cold and snow, but I will have a little boy with cabin fever on my hands!

Christmas List

1.  I love my Christmas tree.  It is decorated with round, red, glass ornaments that belonged to my Mema.  Hallmark ornaments from every year that we have been married.  Glass ornaments filled with wheat, sunflower seeds, oats, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and dirt from our farms.  Pine cones, acorns, and a menagerie of other ornaments that make our tree tell a story.

2.  Every year since LB and I have been married, I have bought a Hallmark ornament to commemorate something special from that year.  It's always fun to hang them on the tree.  There's lots of times, when I unwrap the ornament, I say oh yeah, or remember this?  I have started the tradition for Baby J too.

3.  I have two Nativity sets.  I love them.  Not only is it a perfect reminder of why we really celebrate Christmas, it is also a good teaching tool.  Baby J almost knows all the people and will tell you who they are when you point at them, except for some reason he won't say Shepherd or Angel!

4.  I always wrap my presents in brown paper and embellish with ribbon.  Last year I used all blue ribbons.  Then I cut out the first letter of the recipients' name and glued it to the package with glitter.  This year, I'm using a variety of ribbon and drawing on each package.

5.  I don't think there has ever been a year when I haven't played Dirty Santa at least once!

6.  One of my favorite Christmas activities is our church's Christmas Eve candle light service.  I look forward to it every year and dearly miss it on years I'm traveling and am unable to attend.

7.  On average, LB and I attend seven Christmas gatherings/celebrations/family get togethers, a year!

8.  Another of my favorite Christmas traditions:  My Mom reads the Christmas story from the Bible every year before we are able to open presents.  Not only is it another good reminder before we tear into packages, I like listening to her and hear her passion for God.  Luke 2 and Matthew 1

9.  I love Christmas lights.  And if I could find a way I would have twinkle lights in my house year round!

10.  Last but not least Christmas Music!  Really does it need any more explanation than that?

A Meeting With Santa

Last year, Baby J's meeting with Santa didn't go so well.

But this year, he got right up on Santa's lap,

talked to him, and made him laugh!

It was so cute.

Hopefully next year will go this smooth.
Loving all this Christmas spirit!

The Turkey Shirt

So, I know this post is a little late, but to those of you who know me, know that late is a good time for me!

Ha! Ha!

So, this year for Thanksgiving, I had wanted to make a cute shirt for Baby J to wear. I scoured pinterest and Etsy and found a few designs that I thought I could do.  But, then, I got about a million bag orders and before I knew it, Thanksgiving was a few days away and I hadn't gotten one made.  But not to worry, Baby J's Grandma was on the ball!

Elle had found this very cute turkey shirt design and asked if it would be ok if she made him a shirt.  I was obviously not going to have time to make it, and I knew Baby J would enjoy having something made by his Elle to wear!

Well, it was a success and Baby J loved his shirt!  He wore it with pride and he didn't want anyone to touch it!  He would say "Don't touch, my turkey hirt" (he still has a little trouble with his s's)  I for one think it is adorable and hope he will be able to wear it again next year!

Thankful for my family!

November Happenings

Well, November was different month. A couple months ago, I made some tote bags for my sisters kids for Christmas.  I was so proud of them, that I decided to post them on Facebook and take orders.   Much to my surprise, I had orders coming out my ears!! To date I have made 27 bags and have 8 more orders to fill before Christmas.

When I wasn't working on bags, I was editing pictures. This is the season for family pictures. So, needless to say, I have been a little busy.

During the middle of all this, Baby J got sick.  It was his first time to ever have a temperature over 100!  Needless to say, I was beside myself.  It was just a 24 hour virus that had to run it's course, then all was well.  But being the kind of person I am, I couldn't bring myself to do anything during that time other than sit and rock my sweet little boy.  He has made a full recovery and is just as ornery as ever!

Even though, I was learning how to juggle my new found activities with my daily chores, I managed to snap a few photos you might enjoy:

One day last month, LB came in from the shop and took off his hat. Baby J immediately came  and put LB's had on.  He then looked at him and said "I need your shirt".  LB looked at him and said "you want to put my shirt on?"  Baby J said "Yes"  So, LB took off his shirt and Baby J put it on and everyone was happy!

Oh, yeah!  I also learned how to make cinnamon rolls!

Last, but not least, a mouth full of grapes!

Just a little behind,
Amy

My world is perfect

The world I live in is to perfect, but MY world is perfect!

My world is perfect because,
1.) I have a wonderful husband who supports me, loves me, and is VERRY good looking!

2.) I have a beautiful little boy who is perfect in every way.

3.) I have a home that is warm in the winter and cool in the summer and keeps the wet out.

4.) I have plenty of food to eat and nice clothes to wear.

5.) what more do I really need?

Living the good life, Amy

In a perfect world

1. In a perfect world, I would wake up without bed hair and my makeup would already be perfectly applied!

2.  In a perfect world, there would be no such thing as laundry.

3.  In a perfect world, everything would run on my time.  I would never be late!

4.  .....Chocolate would not be fattening.

5.  ......I could just think about exercising and I'd loose weight.

But then where would be the fun in all that?
