The Price Of Clothing

I have boxes full of stuff.  Most of theses stuff packed boxes are boxes that were stuffed for our move to our new house.

Confused yet?

Anyway, I have shoved these boxes into corners of the garage and attic and other various places that they could become easily over looked.  Well, these last few weeks, I've been trying to go through the last of them in preparation for a garage sale.

If I haven't missed the stuff in these boxes in the past year, then why am I keeping it?

That's what I'm wondering too!

In the process of going through some of the stuff last night I ran across a quote that I had saved.  I like this quote.  It helps me justify buying Jewelry, and Shoes, and Sunglasses and...

"Ladies, it's not the price of any garment that makes it expensive...it's how many times you wear it.  If you look at the belt I'm wearing, it cost more than my entire outfit, but because I wear this belt at least 4 times a week, it's probably the least expensive belt in my closet."

Hope you can use it!

Still No Rain

Well, we missed the good rain again tonight.  We got enough just to get our hopes up, but not enough to get even a drop out of the rain gauge!

Well, while I was pouting about not getting any more rain, I remembered something I wrote a few years ago when things were not so dry.

I had gone to the farm with LB and well, you can read it for yourself...

I wanted to take them home with me, all the greens of the prairie.  I wanted to bundle them up and sit them on my table for all the world to see.

I moved here four years ago, but it wasn't until this spring, when I was riding the four wheeler with my husband, that the prairie captured my heart.  In the past I had never taken the time to see; really see.  There are so many greens.  So many different hues and shades, some that I didn't even know existed.  Greens that no artist, no matter how wonderful they are, would ever be able to replicate.

It took my breath away, the way the grasses rolled and waved in the wind.  It was an ocean of grass dotted here and there with clusters of yellows and purples instead of white caps.

It's beautiful the way every grass works together to make a picture so wonderful that words could never do it justice.  I don't understand how people don't believe in God after seeing sights like this.  Just look at the feathered ends of the Downy Brome, the structure of the joint grass and the thorny edged leaves of the pig weed.  Look at the way the cattails grow at the edge of the waterways, or how the butterflies flit from flower to flower.  Look at how each little hill rolls and slopes into the next making a beautiful green horizon line that accents the blue sky better than any city scape ever could.

So, sit back and do more than look, see.  See the every day things that God has placed before you to enjoy.  The things that we have grown complacent to and take for granted.

Take a moment and see.

The Bulldozer

My husband has recently become the proud owner of a bulldozer!

Do you see the smile on his face.

You know why it's there don't you?

It's because he's thinking of all the things he could do with a bulldozer!

Fortunately, he decided to start with something small; like repairing waterways.

He didn't really care where he started as long as he got to dig in the dirt!

There were times when he made me a little nervous.

Like when the dozer pointed a little more downward than I liked.

But, he's not worried.  He's diggin' a hole and gettin' good and dirty.
Beside, it's got roll bars and boys don't worry about things like that!

Well, at least he hasn't torn down any buildings yet!

Your farm friend,

Today's Thoughts

    1.   I love spring!  This weather we've been having is so nice (except for the no rain part) I enjoy being outside.  Our trees are blooming and our flowers are coming out.  It's nice after a long drab winter.

    2.   I now have only 10  weeks left until Baby J comes!  Yeah!

    3.   I love feeling him move.  It's an amazing feeling, one that I feel especially fortunate to experience.

    4.   We have a vegetable garden.  This is our first year for growing one.  LB grew up with one all the          time, but I've never done one before.  So far, we have onions, tomatoes, garlic, potatoes, jalapenos, and bell peppers!

    5.   I moved my plants outside.  The upside, it makes my back porch look beautiful.  The downside, the   inside of  my house looks empty.

    6.  We need rain.  Badly!

    7.   Maybe I'll buy some fake plants to decorate with this summer.  But, if I do that, what will do with     them when I move my plants back in this winter?

    8.   Fake plants don't need water!

Well, I'll talk to ya later!

A Farm Shower

My Co-workers decided they wanted to throw me a shower.  Not because they thought I was dirty or anything, but because they wanted to celebrate my little baby J with me.

I have decided to decorate Baby J's room in a farm theme.  Since we already have lots of toy tractors and plastic farm animals, it just seemed like the logical thing to do.  So, Farm was the theme to our Thursday evening celebration!

They created the cutest farm yard cake...

And filled a bucket with calf slobbers...

and we devoured it all!

I received lots of gifts.  More than ever expected.  Everyone was so generous.

Some of the gifts I received, will fit a little farm boy's personality perfectly!
Every gift was bought with love and will come in very handy.
Thank you to everyone who had a part in my shower.
It was a wonderful blessing

29 Weeks

Four weeks ago, I looked like this.

Today, four weeks later at 29 weeks, I look like this.
I am getting bigger, It just doesn't look like I've gained that much in four weeks.  But, I know that Baby J is getting bigger.  He defiantly likes to poke his feet into my ribs and kick my food back up when I'm trying to eat.

The doctor visits are now two weeks apart!  That means I don't have much time left.  I don't want him to come too early, but I am ready for him to be here.  Especially since I've started getting his room ready!

More on that later...
