Your A Grand Old Flag

Well folks, it's that time of year again! Summer is here with long days and ice-cream and swimming pools!  I finally got all my patriotic decor out just in time for Memorial Day Monday And there's nothing better than an American flag waving in celebration!  Everyone knows that I love changing out decorations for every holiday and season but my patriotic decorations get to stay up the longest.  I put them out sometime before Memorial day and I don't take them down until Labor dayish!

(The "Brave" print, from the picture above, was a free download from Jones Design Company No relation, but if you've never read her blog you should check it out!  The USA shelf sitter is by Suzi Skoglund.  I love her stuff and I have several pieces for all different holidays.)

Its' fun to switch out pictures too, change out your pictures for some that have to do with the current season.  I can enjoy more pictures that way, heaven knows I don't have enough room for all the ones I love!  Hobby Lobby has square frames for those square pictures you take with your phone.  A can of spray paint is my favorite ways to change up the frames to match the theme.  The coasters are from Shutterfly and the little ceramic puppy is also from Hobby Lobby.  It reminds me of my sweet little Moose whom we lost last fall.

I always keep my eye out for flags on sale.  You can usually buy them super cheap at walmart or Dollar General after the season is over.  They come in handy for crafts or to just stick them into something, like the hitch on this toy tractor or

to pop into a flower vase with some greenery!

They also work great for completing those Pinterest projects that you've been meaning to conquer for the last two years!

Another Pinterest project that is super easy and fun is sewing together shapes cut with my cricut machine.  Paired with a glass bead garland, its simple but yet adds a pop of sparkle!

Do you decorate your house for the Patriotic holidays?  What cute ways do you proudly display our Nation's flag?

Proud to Be an American!
Amy
