One

Today, my baby turned one.

I have been thinking all day about what I was going to post.  I wanted to celebrate my baby's birthday on my blog in some way.  I thought about writing a poem, but I couldn't think of anything that would rhyme with sleep deprivation or poopy diapers.  So, I discarded that idea and decided that I would just write.  Write whatever came to my mind....

A year ago on this day, I became a mother.  It is the most wonderful job I have ever had.  There are times when I am so tired and then there are times when I am so perplexed  and then times when I am so filled with joy!  I have learned things, like the different sounds of my baby's cry and what they mean.  And have experienced joy in things like watching my baby learn how to clap his hands.  I have experienced a new kind of worry, like the one you have the first time your baby wakes in the middle of the night with a fever.  And I have fallen in  love with the sound of my baby's giggle!

This past year has been one of the greatest blessings I have ever been given.  I am looking forward for this next year and all the new adventures we'll have.  Although, I hope it goes by a little slower this time!

The Swing

For Baby J's birthday, LB built him a swing!

He loves it!

It's kinda funny, because now when we walk outside, he will point at it asking to go swing!

The swing is big enough that it will last a long time, and he can swing with his friends.
He swung with his cousins last weekend on his birthday!

Oh, what fun, there is still to come!

OKA b

Today while sitting at the eye doctor, I discovered something.  My shoes said Made In The USA!

I was suuprised.  I had bought this particular pair of flip flops about 3 years ago.  I loved them so much I went back and bought another pair.  Back then, I wasn't as concerned with Made in America products, so today when I noticed the print on the bottom I was excited.  I couldn't find pictures of the two pairs I have, but I thought you might like seeing some of their other products.  I hope to own some of these in the future!

I love their variety of color and bling!
I really like the third pair from the left!
I also really like the little massagers on the arch!  It makes my feet happy!

Since I last posted...

1.)   LB and I painted an entire house!

Well, the outside of an entire house, and it was a small one.

2.)   I got up at 4 a.m. to take portraits of my friend and her beautiful family.

3.)   I ate lunch with my girlfriends and their kids.

4.)   I went to the dermatologist because I had a scarry mole!

Notice everything in the previous sentence is past tense which means I no longer have a scarry mole! Yay!

5.)   LB and I left Baby J with his grand parents.  Then we went to dinner and birthday shopping!

6.)   Somewhere in there I cooked dinner a few times and did a few loads of laundry.

7.)   I made decorations for Baby J's birthday party that is this Saturday!

8.)   Planted corn, okra, squash, zucchini, and pumpkins!

9.)   Taught Baby J how to quack like a duck.

10.) Discovered that I hadn't taken time to blog in 10 days!

Serilite Storage Contaniers

I have several of these around my house.  I also have smaller ones and different colored ones.
I also have several of these.  They are perfect in my closet for shoes!

I had noticed a few weeks ago when I bought one of the totes for Baby J's clothes that the sticker said Made In The USA.  So, I got on their website today and after a quick email inquiry, discovered that all the Sterilite products are "manufactured with pride in the USA"!

So go out and get organized!

Discovering

One of the things I love is watching Baby J discover joy in the simple things.
The things that I have taken for granted.

How content he is with just a waterhose and a bucket!

Even if he did get a little water up his nose!

Dove

I use this.

I even use this sometimes.

I have tried lots of different soaps, and I have concluded that this really is the best.  And one of the things that helps is...you guessed it; it's made in the USA.

Their website says that all the products sold in the USA are made in the USA.  It's also nicely printed on the back of the bottle.  I don't know about you, but I like it when the companies take the space to say Made In The USA.  There are lots of products that just say made for a certain distributing company.

I'll get off my soap box now!

(Ha ha!)

We Made It!

Well, Wheat harvest is over!

No more dinners in the field.

No more hoping fore hood weather.

Or worrying about breakdowns.

Everything has been cut, and the last load has been hauled to the elevator.

Harvest is over for another year!
