Journey to MD Anderson - Pt. 2

Well, we're in Texas!

It was quiet the drive down.  We left at about 8:30 and despite making a stop for gas and then a quick stop for lunch we were making excellent time. Until we hit Dallas traffic!  I am so glad that it was Landon that was driving because I'd have had a nervous breakdown.  Seriously, do you realize how big Dallas really is?  Google says Oklahoma City metro is 6,300 sq miles.  Dallas metro is 9, 200 sq miles.  Oklahoma City metroplex population is about 1.4 million.  The whole state is about 3.5 million.  Dallas Fort Worth metroplex is over 7 million. That's pretty impressive.   I felt like all 7 million people were trying to drive on I35E through Dallas with me.  Or rather sit still on the same road with me!  I think when we come home we will be bypassing Dallas.

So, this happened today.  Did you know Waco was on the way to Houston?

I didn't.  But Landon did and he planned all by himself to surprise me with a stop here at Magnolia Market!  He did tell me a couple days ago, out of necessity, that it was in the plans to make the visit.  How great is He!  This is one of the many reasons why I love him so!

The Market was better than I expected!  I could see everything in the shop, perfectly in my house! I very much enjoyed walking around looking at everything.

She has amazing decorating ideas!  See the set of scales hanging in the corner in the picture above?  There are plants in the bin.  Why haven't I thought of that before?  So clever and easy!

This was my most favorite spot in the whole place.  Her gardens were beautiful and  I loved them.  I left with inspiration to go home and get to digging! She had some really neat plants for sale in that cute little building called air plants.  They don't have any roots or require any soil.  They also don't like direct sun and need very little water.  I love low maintenance plants.  They were pretty awesome little plants and I may have left with one! ;)

The outdoor space was pretty awesome!  Who could resist these swings?  It was very family/kid oriented.  I would love to be able to go back and take the boys with me.  Maybe sometime when we have more time and when there aren't more pressing matters we could make that happen.

Well, tomorrow we head on down to Houston.  We'll check into our hotel and then find our way to MD Anderson.

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
~Deuteronomy 31:8

Keeping you posted
Amy

We were just in the Metroplex visiting my sister and attending my nephews ballgames and nieces musical and I35 was crazy!! Or maybe it made me feel like I was crazy! I was amazed that when I put the address into the GPS, we made it to our destination. All the detours, construction and uncertainty we still made it! Amy, you have a far better engineer than the metroplex! I pray you will feel his presence every step of the way, through the detours, construction and uncertainty! You can do this! We are cheering you on and will pray without ceasing .
