Sometimes, it's not until you have been put into trying situations that you truly understand the importance of faith. Faith in God gives hope, and when you are scared or experiencing fear, the only thing stronger than those emotions is hope. It's stronger because we know that something better or wonderful can be had if only we will fight for it. If there wasn't any alternative then there would be no need or reason for hope.
God gave us hope when he died on the cross and then rose again three days later. He had victory over death. So, if God had victory over the worst possible thing ever, that being death, then why do we worry or sweat anything? I mean, everything else pales in comparison. Death is final. Sickness, financial trouble, family disagreements, etc....are all just for a season. And if we have faith and are saved, God is right there with us fighting our battles. When we have faith that God is going to see us through we can then accept the peace he offers. We are then able to carry on with our lives without the worry or added stress of all the trials. Oh, sure i still worry from time to time. But that's because I'm human and the devil is out to get me. So, when I begin to feel this way I just take a moment and pray, asking God for the strength I need to carry on and you know what? He follows through every time. Without faith, I would have nothing. I would have no hope.
Today I'm thankful. I'm thankful for my faith. My faith in God has carried me and my family through this stormy season. We are now heading into spring and ready to see what this next year has in store for my beautiful family!
Love, Amy
