Around The House With Baby J - April Edition

What this picture doesn't show you is, Baby J banging on the door crying and saying Daddy!

LB and I love horseback riding.

This is something that we did a lot of when we were dating, but after we got married, not much at all.  I sold my horse a few uears ago andLB didn't have one for a while.  Then when he did, it seemed we were always too busy.

Lately, we have been taalking about how much we used to enjoy riding and how we hoped that Baby J would love it as much as we do.  So, now LB has a new horseand we are going to find one for me.  And before long, we will hopefully be saddling one for Baby J!

Right now, we just go along with LB and pet the horse; sometimes Baby J takes quick little rides with one of us.  And we watch.  But I don't mind just going along.  Look at our view...

One thing I Love

One thing I love about spring is all the adorable little baby calves.

Hello Baby!  I see you!

One day last week, when LB got home from work, Baby J and I jumped into the pickup with him and headed to the farm.  It was a little late that's why the pictures are so dark, but I did get a few worth showing!

On this particular day, Baby J could not have cared less about the baby calves,  he wanted the fence.  Even though the calves were on the other side of it, creeping closer and closer, all he wanted to do was eat the fence.  I guess I need to add a little iron to his diet!

These three cows, would come really close to me, then as soon as my camera would flash they would run backwards about five or six feet.  Then they would come close again, then my camera would flash.  They'd run backwards.....they did this for a while!

Well, maybe I'll remember to take my camera with me next time we go and get some better pictures!

Lately

Hello everyone!

I know, I know, I haven't been posting very many interesting post lately.  I'm not really sure why.  There has been lots of interesting stuff going on, I just haven't taken the time to tell you about them.

I think it's because I kinda have spring fever!

You see, anytime spring comes along, I have this wonderful urge to open my windows, clean the house, and go outside.  (Notice do laundry wasn't mentioned!)  So, lately, I have cleaned the house and then spent a big portion of the day outside.  I water the garden every day, along with my plants that have finally been moved outside. And Baby J and I go to the park.  Yesterday we spent two hours there!  And we go for walks; Baby J loves to ride in his wagon!

I also rearranged the furniture.  It wasn't the easiest wild hair to tame, but luckily I had help from my wonderful friend Stacy.  Thank you Stacy!  Rearranging the living room was the greatest idea.  This is the way we should have set it up when we moved.  It opens up the dinning area and doesn't look so cluttered!

Baby J and I have also been going to the farm with LB more now that the weather has warmed up.  I love watching all the baby calves in the spring!

So, now you know what we've been up to.  Maybe later today, I'll move all the pictures from my camera to the computer and I'll be able to show you all the pictures of our adventures!

Mercy Triumphs

I just finished this Bible study.

It's an eight week study by Beth Moore that was worth every second.  I've never done a study like this.  It was an indepth study over the book of James in the New Testament. I learned things that I didn't know, was reminded of things I already knew and was left feeling closer to God than I was before I started.  If you have ever done any of the other studies by her then you will understand why I am highly recomending this one.

I can't describe to you the change I have gone through these past few weeks.  Or how my heart feels as I encourage you to do this study too.  If allowed, this study can be life changing.

Anyway, I hope you get the opportunity to commit to this eight week study.
I don't thing you'll regret it.

Diamond Gusset Jeans

My husband wears these jeans.

Yes, these are American made.

He has several other brands of jeans, but these are his favorite and it really isn't because they are American made, that's just the icing on the cake.  He says that they are the most comfortable jeans he has ever worn.

I crused through their website this evening and discovered that they have wemon's jeans, belts, and t-shirts.  If you get a chance, you should check them out here:  Diamond Gusset

A Quick List

**I started this blog yesterday, when much to my dismay, in the middle of typing, the Internet went out.  Later, yesterday evening, when LB was using the ipad and I asked him to save the post I was working on (up to the point that the internet went out I hadn't hit the save button) and I would finish it later.  He informed me that the page was open, but what I had typed was gone.  That's what I get for not saving it in the middle of typing.  I never had time to sit back down and work on it again until about eleven o'clock.  That's when I discovered that LB had taken the liberty to write a post for me.  So I hope you all enjoyed yesterday's little story!
Now for yesterday's actual post:

1.)  Yesterday was my little sister's 26th birthday!  So in honor of her birthday I ate one prebaked chocolate chip cookie.

Well, maybe it was actually two...

2.)  I love prebaked chocolate chip cookies!

3.)  On Thursday, the electricity in half of my house went out!  No electricity in the kitchen, utility room, Baby J's room or the back porch for four days!

Yay! No laundry!

Thankfully I have a gas oven!

4.)  I ate at Hideaway Pizza in Oklahoma City on Saturday.  Yummy!

5.)  I love my Kitchen Aid mixer that mixed up the dough for my chocolate chip cookies!

6.)  Yesterday, the electrician came and fixed our electricity!  Yay, now I get to do laundry!  Well, I would prefer to not do laundry, except that the few days without washing put me behind.  And I hate being behind more than I hate laundry.

7.)  Baby J says four words:  Mama, Dada, Hi, and more!

Our Garden

It's garden time again!

Last year, LB and I had a garden and it burned up in the terrible Oklahoma heat!

But this year, chances of that happening again are slim.  Not impossible, just hopefully not likely.

Our onions are coming up.

LB planted peppers a couple days ago.

And this year we have apricots!

So far, everything is coming along great!  You just never know about Oklahoma weather!

Maglite

I have one of these.

It's red and it's shiny, and I love it!

I have had it for almost 14 years and it's still going strong.  My dad got it for me when I got my first car.  He said everybody needed a good car flashlight.  Over the years it has graduated to my everyday around the house flashlight and I use it for many things.  For example: when the electricity goes out, when I have to take the dog out in the middle of the night, sneaking up on the unsuspecting victim of my prank, and many other things that I'm too tired to think of right now!

Anyway, Maglites are made in the USA
They come in LED and Incandescant.  And they range anywhere from 4 inches to 19 inches long!
There are a variety of accessories and colors available for each size.  If you get a chance check out their website here!

Easter

This year, Baby J was still a little to small to hunt eggs.  But that's ok, he still liked them.
Especially the ones that rattled like they might have M & Ms inside!

He also liked peeps!

And cupcakes!

I know, a little too much sugar!  It took me awhile to get him to go to sleep!

After dinner, he got a special easter gift from his Pa and Ellie.  He loved it!  He played with the bucket and eggs for probably an hour!

It was so cute!  He is still playing with the bucket and eggs.

I know what I'll get him next year.  Forget the candy, just buy him plastic eggs and a bucket!

Rent House Renovations

About two months ago, I shared a project with you all, that LB has jumped into!  Well, progress has been made and it's time to give you an update!

I'm just posting pictures of where we're at right now.  If you want to see some before shots, click here.

There used to be a window inside this shower!

This is the room that was painted purple and pink!

I think LB has done a great job!

U-Haul

My wonderful cousin, Beth, is moving.  She is moving to a beautiful new house in the country.  I haven't been there, but I've seen pictures, and it's very beautiful!

And of course, anytime you move, packing boxes is involved.

She sent me these pictures earlier this week.  U-Haul proudly makes their boxes here in the USA!

So, if you are moving in the near future, I would suggest using these boxes.  I can't recommend them from my experience, but I can recommend them because, by using them your helping out people right here in our own country!

Happy packing Beth!

The Pedal Tractor

Christmas of 2010, before Baby J was even born, he got a Christmas present!

A 4-wheel drive John Deere Pedal Tractor!

From the time we got it, we'd kept it in the corner of Baby J's bedroom.  But, once he started crawling, that would be the first place he crawl to.  He was very interested in it.  So, I started sitting him on it and teaching him to hold on.  Well, a few days ago, Baby J's Pa and Ellie came over and we decided to take him for a ride.

He loved it so much, that we had to take it out to the shop so he'd have more room!
Although, it'll be awhile before he can reach the pedals!

Now everytime we go out to the shop, we have to give him a ride!
Oh, the excitment of being a little boy!

An Easter Encounter

Yesterday, Baby J met the Easter Bunny!

It was so cute! The longer he sat there, the more excited he got.

I guess he was just wanting to make sure the Easter Bunny gives him a visit Sunday!

Made in the USA and Vacation Pt. 2

On Monday and Tuesday of our vacation, I went skiing!

Now, it has been 7 years since I've been skiing.  And I have to admit, I was a little nervous.  The thought of twisting a knee or rolling down the mountain seemed to keep popping into my mind!  I'm not as young and as in shape as I used to be.

So, on the first day, I took it slow and only went down the easy slope.  I did better than I thought.  It was a little rough the first trip down and I did crash a few times, but the next time down; it was smooth sailing.  I didn't crash once!

The next day, I went to the top of the mountain with my cousins.  It was so pretty.  See the storm that came in while we were up there? I did so good. I only fell down once!  I was so proud of myself.

It was blowing snow so hard and I had to take off my sunglasses because I kept fogging them up, but then my face got soaked from the snow.
So it would be a pretty good suggestion to wear waterproof mascara.

Speaking of which, I wear Maybelline makeup and everything I have of theirs (mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, powder...) says it's Made in the USA.  I have contacted the company to see if all their products are made in America, but I haven't heard back from them yet.  I will post an update when I find out.

April Fools List

  1. Today is April Fools Day!  My dad is a great April Fools prankster.  In my 29 years, I have only got him once.  It was a proud moment; I told him the Drs made a mistake and we were actually having a baby girl instead of a boy!

  3. On friday, we made a quick trip to Stillwater to celebrate my grandmother's 79th birthday!
  4.
  5. Baby J is cutting teeth.  Three of them to be exact!  It's not much fun for him.  It's not much fun for his mother either!
  6.

  7. Our rent house renovations are almost finished.
  8.
  9.  I have a blog planned for tomorrow about skiing, mascara and USA!
