Saturday, my baby turned 7 months old!
(I can't hardly believe it, it has gone by so fast!)

The day before he turned 7 months, he suprised me.

He did this...

Then he did this...

And this...

Then he crashed!

Don't worry, he did it again.  And every day, he gets better and better.

It won't be long until he is into everything!

Fiesta

So, I set a goal for this year.

I decided that I was going to write 52 post solely devoted to American Made products.  That would be one post every week(just in case you didn't know!)

When I originally wrote the three previous Made In The USA post, it was just because I was very impressed with the products and wanted to share them with all of you. Now, I've decided that it would be fun to find all the products in my house, that I use regularly, that are USA made and share them with all of you.  This will be a challenge because I'm not sure if I have 52 American products!

So, this week...

Fiesta!  No, not a party!  The dinnerware!

I love Fiesta!  It makes my cabinets look happy!

They make other things beside tableware.  Gravy boats, creamers, sugar bowls...

Salt & pepper shakers, spoon rest...

I love all the bright colors and the durability. They are oven and microwave safe.  And I have only broken one piece since we've been married, that's 7 years!

Now I will caution you, their silverware and linens are not USA made.
Here's a link if you'd like to check it out: Fiesta

Baby J's First Horseback Ride

Horses are my favorite animal. AndI have had my own horse since I was able to walk.
My Dad is a farrier. (That is a person that shoes horses for a living.)  And my Mom grew up with horses as well.  So, it's safe to say horses have been in my life forever.

I finally decided that Baby J was old enough to go for a ride
So, last Saturday, I took Baby J on his first ride.
It only lasted about 10 minutes, but I will always be able to tell him, that he went on his first horse back ride was when he was 6 months old.
And he loved it!

His mama was pretty excited too!

Yum! Yum!

Baby J has been learning to feed himself!

He seems to be enjoying it!

Although it is proving to be pretty messy!

There's more fun to come!

LB's Barn

Last year, in July, my wonderful husband decided to build a shed.

Yes, I know. It was one of the hottest and dryest summer on record, but that is one of the reasons why he started when he did.  It was too hot to do much anything else!

Well, life happened and he was having to work on it mostly by himself, so the building was pretty slow.

But, just a few days ago, he finished!

I think it turned out pretty nice!

Berlin Flyer Wagon

I told you a while back about buying Baby J wagon, but I didn't tell you anything about it.

It's a Berlin Flyer and they are made in the USA.

I originally wanted to buy Radio Flyer.  Those metal wagons are an American icon; so you can imagine my disappointment when I found out that they were actually made in China.

After some research, LB and I found the Berlin Flyers.

They are 100% American made.  The construction is beautiful and I know that it will be durable enough to last.

This is the Wagon we bought Baby J.  It's the off road heavy load model that will hopefully withstand a little boy's imagination!

If you are looking for a wagon, I highly suggest checking these out.

I Cleaned

I have a closet. In that closet is a shelf. On that shelf is my jewelry.
The jewelry that was on that shelf was piled and tangled and a in desperate need of attention.

So i took everything out, piled it on my bed and organized.  What a job!

There was 6 pairs of sunglasses!

There was a large pile of plastic bangles!

And some earrings I can't wear when it's windy!

There was even this, a coke can bracelet!

Now I need to find a bigger jewelry box!

What Did You Do This Weekend?

I wrote a post about cleaning on Friday morning.

I packed for a weekend trip to my parents.

Wasn't completely packed by the time LB got home so we were late leaving.

Grabbed my computer and shoved it in the bag forgetting to post my blog.

Had suitcase restrictions put on me for any future packing!

Ate supper at Joseppi's.

Woke up late the next morning.

Went to hobby Lobby with my mother.

Went to Walmart.

Took Baby J on his first horseback ride.

Ate Mexican food for supper with my parents.

Went to sleep.

Woke up early and went to church.

Came home went for another horseback ride with LB and my Dad.

Went back to church.

Went to McAlister's Deli and ate a sandwich and soup.

Went to Orange Leaf and ate a half a pound of ice cream.

Woke up the next morning and had to go pick up LB from the Ford dealership because his pick up broke down.

Borrowed my mom's car and went to visit my Aunt Nana.

Came back to my parents house and sent LB back to Western Oklahoma in my mom's car so he could go to work today.

Stayed at my parents for an extra night, hoping that LB's Pick up would be ready today.

Slept in late.

Hung out with my mom all day today!

LB came back to Stillwater to get his pick up and us!

Packed up the pick up with my too many suitcases that turned out to be not too many.

Headed for home at 7:30.

Tervis

On Christmas Morning, I found this in my stocking!

I know, I know!  It's just a cup. So what is so great about a cup?

Well, I'll just tell you...

Tervis is a company down in Florida that has been around for over 60 years; and all their products are American Made.  I love American made stuff!  Sometimes when there is something specific I need, like sheets or kitchen utensils, I search until I find them Made In America.

These cups/drink ware do not condense on anything, and they keep drinks hot or cold.  You can also purchase lids and handles that are also American Made.  The lids are also spill proof, which is wonderful when you have little hands around!

I almost always have a drink of some kind with me when I'm in the car, so they work wonderful for travel.

They have all different sizes, designs, and some are even customizable.

If you get a chance you should check out this website: Tervis

Memorial Day 2007

I was going through some pictures today, when I came across a set I had taken back in 2007 on Memorial Day.

There wasn't anything particularly special about these pictures, they just made me smile.

This was before Moose's hair fell out!

I have this picture hanging on my wall! Isn't he purty?

Hope these pictures made you smile too!

The Pit

LB and The Mechanic have a pit.

They burn things in it.

Various things get thrown into this pit thrugh out the year: dead trees, old lumber, dead cows, and various other bits of burnable junk from around the farm.

From time to time the pit gets full, so we begin waiting for an evening when conditions are right. No wind and plenty of moisture.

They like to burn at night; they can keep an eye on the embers, and make sure nothing else catches on fire!

On this particular night, we all went with LB to burn the hole! It was a nice romantic evening, we listened to Christmas music and drank hot chocolate by the light of the fire!

The Smoker

About a month ago, my wonderful husband, got a wild hair.

He decided to build a smoker!
He didn't want no dinky little city boy smoker, he wanted a man's big and tough smoker.

So, he began building.  And he built. And he built. And he built. And after about a month he came up with this. Unfortunately, I never went out to the shop to take pictures of the building process.  I definately should have because he built the entire thing all the way down to the trailer.  And I have to say, I was impressed!

Once it was finished, we had to try it out.  So he fired it up!

Then,  I dug out all the briskets I had.  And even rounded up a few from our friends.

And after a few hours, we had the most delicious, most tasty brisket I ever ate!

So, there won't be any ham around here for Christmas!  I want Brisket!
